  • Currently working in Edmonton on a CD with award winning Jazz Artist Sandro Dominelli (check out his website http://www.sandrodominelli.com/ ). Sandro will be producing a few of my favorite cover tunes.


  • In addition Peter Bacsalmasi (awarded the 2006 CAMA Best Producer/Engineer for "The Journey") and I continue work on the new contemporary aboriginal CD.

    Years ago a thought was planted in my head to combine two styles of music. Traditional native drums with a contemporary music style. The idea of recording began to take form as I shared my thoughts with the Little Island group and developed the first steps in recording and manufacturing of 12 songs.

    The songs of Full Circle in a unique combination of the voice of Donna Kay and Little Island Cree that captures the presence of nature through a mystic mood and affinity with all creation. The songs are compelling go the ear, relaxing and touch the inner need to be free.

    To capture the very essence of the music I need to collaborate with a visual artist for the CD cover. The water, island, mother earth, tent, moon, fire, trees and reflection all forcefully depict the creativeness of mother earth and the full circle of all things.

    The demo I developed with Little Island Cree is to introduce to the commercial market two styles of music that complement each other. My intention is to follow-up with the full album of twelve songs.

    The balance of the album will stay within the theme of Full Circle which is the melding of the aboriginal and contemporary styles. This will include such tracks as:

    • A native Elder telling a story which the background music will interpret.
    • Donna Kay's drums with instrumentation added.
    • Pow Wow drums with instrumentation added.
    • The remaining songs will be the blend of contemporary, blues and native.

    24 Greatest Hits - 12 Artist Compilation
    Donna will be included on a Sunshine Records compilation due out late Fabruary 2005.
